About Me

I am in my 60s and live in Halden, Norway.
My dear wife and best friend, Kari, died autumn 2011 after a struggle with ALS - Lou Gehrig disease. This is the sadest that has happened in my life. She was very supportive with my hobby, and she was a very decent sticther.
I have three great sons, who have left the nest, but only the oldest one, Eivind, is a model railroader.
He is also a professional track designer, working in BaneNor - a state-owned company responsible for the Norwegian national railway infrastructure.  I once had dreams of becoming a civil engineer working with railroads and other infrastructure.
But I endet up as a lutheran minister. Then in 1998 I got the chickenpox, and shortly after got very ill. It turned out I had got a disease called ME/Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome (PVFS).

This disease causes me to slow down with everything, including my blog here and my blog over at MRH.
The first ten years I had to stay in bed a lot. I was better some years, but a far cry from being able to go back to work. Sadly the last years I have become worse again. I have, however, managed to do some work on the P&SF layout during these years.
The best have been when friends have come over for an operating session.
One day I hope someone will be able to find a Cure for the ME-disease. There are scientists around the world working on that.
